Salaries may vary by establishment and region. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data show that fulltime gaming managers were paid a median annual figure of $46,820 in 1999. The lowest ten percent earned less than $26,630, and the highest ten % earned beyond $96,610.
Gaming supervisors oversee gaming operations and staff in an assigned area. Circulating among the game tables, they make sure that all stations and games are manned for each shift. It also is accepted for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating standards for bettors. Supervisors could also plan and arrange activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.
Gaming supervisors must have certain leadership qualities and good communication skills. They need these skills both to manage workers effectively and to greet patrons in order to establish return visits. Most casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. No matter their their educational background, however, many supervisors gain experience in other casino jobs before moving into supervisory positions because an understanding of games and casino operations is important for these workers.
