Empty your purse, your billfold, and leave all money, plastic credit and checks back at the hotel. Take whatever cash you anticipate to spend on beverages, tipping and whatever pocket change you expect to lose and leave the rest behind.
Cynical? Not really. Just realistic. You can have a success after a boozy evening out with your friends and be blessed sufficiently to catch a 25 minute toss at a on fire craps game. Leaving your money back at the hotel is a bit drastic, but defensive actions for drastic behavior is a requirement. If you wager to profit, then do not drink and bet.
