Even though the reality that web betting is now a billion dollar business, and countless thousands of new gamblers around the globe log in every day to gamble at internet casinos, there are still millions of new players to the world of online betting who do not as yet have a good understanding of much of the jargon used in online gambling, and wagering on athletics in general. Nonetheless, knowledge of these terms is indispensable to interpreting the games and rules of gaming:

ACTION: Any style of bet.

ALL-IN: In poker, all-in alludes to a player has deposited all of her bankroll into the pot. A second pot is created for the players with additional chips.

ALL-UP: To bet on several horses in the same race.

ANTE: A poker phrase for allocating a required sum of chips into the pot just beforeeach hand starts.

BRING-IN: A required wager in 7-card stud made by the gambler showing the lowest value card.

BUST: You do not win; As in chemin de fer, when a player’s cards are valued over 21.

BUY-IN: The minimum value of money required to appear in a game or event.

CALL: As in poker, when a bet is the same as an already carried out bet.

CHECK: In poker, to stay in the match and not betting. This is allowed only if no other players bet in that round.

CLOSING A BET: As in spread wagering, meaning to put a bet equal to but converse of the opening bet.

COLUMN BET: To bet on one or more of the three columns of a roulette table.

COME BET: In craps, similar to a pass-line bet, but made after the shooter has ascertained her point.

COME-OUT ROLL: A crapshooters first roll to achieve a point, or the initial toss after a point has been achieved.

COVERALL: A bingo term, which means to blanket all the spots on a bingo sheet.

CRAPPING OUT: In craps, to toss a 2, three or twelve is an automatic loss on the come-out roll.

DAILY DOUBLE: To select the winners of the initial 2 events of the day.

DOWN BET: To wager that the result of an action will be smaller than the smallest end of the quote on a spread bet, also referred to as a "sell".

DOZEN BET: In roulette, to bet on one or more of 3 categories of 12 numbers, 1-twelve, etc.

EACH WAY BET: A sports wager, indicating to gamble on a team or player to win or position in a game.

EVEN MONEY BET: A bet that pays out the identical value as wagered, ( one to one ).

EXACTA: gambling that 2 horses in a match will complete the race in the exact same assignment as the wager – also known as a " Perfecta ".

FIVE-NUMBER LINE BET: In roulette, a bet made on a block of five numbers, such as 1-2-3-0, and 00.
